The Seaside Hall at the Misurata Free Zone hosted today’s inauguration ceremony for several major new infrastructure and service projects. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Eng. Abdulhamid Dbeibah; the Chairman of the MFZ Management Committee, Eng. Muhsin Sigutri; the Minister of Transportation; the Mayor of Misrata; along with investors and representatives of entities and authorities operating at the port.

The inaugurated projects included the Port Customs building, the shipbuilding and maintenance facility, the smart access control system for port and zone gates, the truck yard, the vessel traffic control tower, and upgrades to the 4G network. The dry-dock lifting facility maintenance project was also announced, marking significant steps toward improving marine maintenance services.

These projects are part of a comprehensive development plan by the Misurata Free Zone to upgrade its infrastructure and enhance its operational and service capabilities. This initiative aims to position MFZ as one of the leading economic and logistics hubs in Libya and North Africa, while creating a welcoming environment for domestic and foreign investment and supporting government efforts to expand maritime and industrial trade.

For his part, Eng. Muhsin Sigutri confirmed that these projects demonstrate a clear strategic vision focused on creating an integrated system of port and logistics services driven by national talent and modern technology. He added that MFZ is progressing with additional development projects in the near future to strengthen its role as a key driver of the national economy.
