Misurata Free Zone (MFZ) has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, the international arm of the Italian employers’ federation, and the Libyan Italian Chamber of Commerce, marking a significant step toward expanding its international partnership network and strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Libya and Italy.
The agreements establish a framework for collaboration across key sectors, including investment, trade, logistics, ports, and industry. They also aim to attract Italian investment to Misurata Free Zone, facilitate joint business ventures, and promote the exchange of market intelligence, expertise, and investment information.
Under the MoUs, the parties will work together to organize business forums, trade missions, B2B meetings, and specialized workshops, while enhancing institutional promotion efforts to create new opportunities for strategic partnerships between the Libyan and Italian business communities. The collaboration also seeks to leverage Misurata Free Zone’s strategic location as a gateway to African markets.
The agreements represent one of the key outcomes of MFZ’s investment promotion roadshow held in Rome, reinforcing the Free Zone’s strategy to expand its global partnerships and strengthen its position as a strategic logistics and investment hub connecting Europe and Africa. Through these partnerships, MFZ aims to attract high-quality investments, facilitate trade, and contribute to sustainable economic growth between the two countries.
